Jho Low’s BaZi: When a Follower Chart Follows the Wrong Mountain

Jho Low’s BaZi: When a Follower Chart Follows the Wrong Mountain

Jho Low is one of the most unusual modern examples to study from a BaZi perspective.

Not because we admire what happened.

Not because we want to glorify the money, the parties, the connections, or the “wah, this person really knows how to network” storyline.

But because his life shows a very important BaZi lesson:

If your chart is designed to follow power, you must be extremely careful who you follow, what you worship, and what you are willing to sacrifice for success.

Jho Low, born on 4 November 1981, has been widely linked to the 1MDB scandal. In 2018, the United States Department of Justice announced charges involving conspiracy to launder billions allegedly embezzled from 1MDB and conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The DOJ stated at the time that Low remained at large. More recently, reports in May 2026 stated that he had sought a U.S. presidential pardon while still facing unresolved legal issues connected to 1MDB.

Before we go further, we must be fair.

Without his exact birth time, the BaZi reading cannot be considered complete. The hour pillar can change many things, including children palace, later-life pattern, hidden talents, and whether certain structures are truly strong or broken.

So for this article, we will read from the assumption that his chart is a Follower Chart, or 从格, as some practitioners have discussed.

And if this assumption is correct, then his BaZi becomes a very powerful case study.

Because a Follower Chart can rise very high.

But if the person follows the wrong thing, the fall can also be very dramatic.

In simple language: when the chart has no strong steering wheel, please do not hand the car key to greed.

What Is a Follower Chart?

In BaZi, a normal chart usually needs balance.

If the Daymaster is weak, we strengthen it. If the Daymaster is too strong, we release or control it. This is the common way of reading.

But a Follower Chart is different.

A Follower Chart happens when the Daymaster is extremely weak and has little or no meaningful support. Instead of trying to strengthen itself, the chart survives by following the strongest force in the chart.

It is like a small boat in a powerful river.

If the boat tries to fight the current, it capsizes.

If it follows the current properly, it can travel very far.

This is why Follower Charts can be very powerful. These people often know how to read the room, follow power, connect with influential people, and position themselves around major opportunities.

They may not need to be the king.

They just need to stand near the king, understand the king, serve the king, and quietly control the bridge leading to the king.

This is where things become interesting.

Because in life, the person who controls access can sometimes become more powerful than the person sitting on the throne.

The Weak Yin Metal Daymaster: Survival Through Alignment

Jho Low is often analysed as a weak Yin Metal Daymaster, or Xin Metal.

Xin Metal represents refined metal, jewelry, precision, image, beauty, networking, diplomacy, and delicate calculation. Unlike Geng Metal, which is more direct and forceful, Xin Metal is more polished and subtle.

When Xin Metal is strong, it can represent elegance, discipline, principles, and refinement.

But when Xin Metal is extremely weak and unsupported, the person may become highly dependent on the environment, connections, status, and external power.

This is where the Follower Chart theory becomes important.

If the Daymaster is too weak to stand independently, then the person must “follow” the dominant element or dominant structure in the chart. In Jho Low’s case, the reading often points toward a Follow Wealth or power-driven structure.

This suggests someone who is naturally pulled toward money, influence, luxury, and high-status networks.

Not small money.

Not normal “save a bit, invest a bit, buy bubble tea only when got discount” kind of money.

This is the type of chart that looks at wealth as access, power, and social control.

Money is not just money.

Money becomes the ticket into rooms where ordinary people cannot enter.

The Gift: Networking, Positioning, and Knowing Who Matters

The strong side of this chart is very obvious.

A person with this kind of structure can be very good at networking.

Not casual networking where people exchange name cards and never contact each other again.

This is strategic networking.

He would know who is important, who is rising, who has influence, who controls resources, and who can open doors.

This type of chart can understand hierarchy very well. It knows that the world does not only move through talent. It moves through relationships, access, timing, reputation, and leverage.

That is why someone like Jho Low could move among political, financial, and celebrity circles despite not being a public official or traditional tycoon in the beginning. His public story has often been described around elite connections, finance, and high-profile social circles.

From a BaZi angle, this is the classic strength of a Follower Chart.

The person may be able to sense where the strongest current is flowing and attach himself to it.

In business, this can be powerful.

In politics, this can be dangerous.

In finance, this can become explosive.

And when all three mix together, it becomes the kind of soup that even the kitchen god may not want to taste.

The Danger: When “Follow Wealth” Becomes Worship Wealth

In a healthy Follower Chart, the person follows the right structure.

This means they follow discipline, systems, proper leadership, legal frameworks, strong mentors, and legitimate opportunities.

But when the chart is imbalanced, “Follow Wealth” can become “worship wealth.”

This is very dangerous.

Because Wealth Star in BaZi is not only money. It can represent desire, possession, control, assets, women for male charts, commercial instinct, and worldly ambition.

When Wealth becomes too dominant and the self is too weak, the person may feel that only external accumulation can give them identity.

More money.

More houses.

More luxury.

More famous friends.

More proof.

More things that tell the world, “I am somebody.”

But here is the problem.

If the Daymaster is weak, the person may not have enough internal strength to manage the size of the wealth they are chasing.

It is like giving a small table a banquet meant for a palace.

At first, it looks impressive.

Then the legs start shaking.

Then the whole thing collapses, and the fish maw soup lands on everyone.

The Missing Discipline Problem

In BaZi, a person does not only need wealth.

They also need structure.

They need Resource for wisdom, support, reflection, ethics, and long-term thinking.

They need Output for proper expression, creativity, value creation, and contribution.

They need Officer or Seven Killing properly controlled for discipline, law, responsibility, and consequences.

When a chart is overly driven by Wealth or Power without enough stabilising influence, the person may become clever but not wise.

There is a difference.

Clever people can find shortcuts.

Wise people know which shortcuts lead to a cliff.

This is one of the biggest lessons from Jho Low’s case.

A person can be very intelligent, very connected, very resourceful, and still make disastrous choices if greed overrides discipline.

BaZi does not only show whether someone can get rich.

It also shows whether someone can carry the wealth.

That is the part many people forget.

Everyone wants big money.

But not everyone has the chart, character, and luck cycle to hold big money without being swallowed by it.

The Follower Chart’s Biggest Test: Who Do You Follow?

For a Follower Chart, the most important question is not only “Can you succeed?”

The real question is:

Who or what are you following?

Are you following proper mentors?

Are you following strong systems?

Are you following ethical wealth?

Are you following long-term value?

Or are you following greed, status, shortcuts, and people who tell you that rules are only for others?

A Follower Chart is very sensitive to environment.

When surrounded by good people, it can become excellent.

When surrounded by powerful but questionable people, it can become dangerous.

This is why people with this kind of chart must choose their circle carefully.

They absorb the direction of the strongest force around them.

If the strongest force is wisdom, they become wise.

If the strongest force is greed, they become greedy.

If the strongest force is corruption, they may slowly normalise corruption.

At first, they may think they are using the system.

Later, the system uses them.

By the time they realise it, the door is no longer a door.

It is a legal summons wearing a suit.

The Rise: Right Luck, Right Network, Right Access

In BaZi, luck cycles matter a lot.

A chart is only the blueprint. The luck cycle is the weather.

A good chart in poor luck may struggle.

A dangerous chart in favourable luck may rise very fast.

Jho Low’s earlier life appears to show the positive side of this structure. He reportedly studied overseas, entered elite circles, and built relationships that later became central to his public story. His profile has been linked to international education, finance, and access to influential networks.

From a BaZi perspective, when a Follower Chart enters supportive luck, the person may suddenly find access.

Doors open.

People introduce people.

Opportunities multiply.

The person appears to be at the right place at the right time.

But this is also when the test begins.

Because good luck does not only bring opportunity.

Good luck also reveals appetite.

When opportunity becomes too big, the person must ask: “Am I still in control of my desire?”

If not, success becomes the bait.

The Fall: When Luck Turns Against the Structure

In BaZi, what rises through luck can also fall through luck.

When a person’s luck pillars clash with the natal chart, especially through punishment, clash, harm, or destruction, the same structure that once helped the person can begin to break.

This is what we call 刑冲破害, the punishment, clash, destruction, and harm patterns.

For ordinary people, this may show as job changes, relationship problems, health pressure, legal disputes, financial losses, or family conflict.

For someone operating at a very high level of money and power, the same clash can become global scandal, investigations, asset seizure, criminal charges, and exile from normal life.

This is why BaZi must always be read with scale.

A small chart problem in a small life may become a small problem.

A big chart problem in a big life can become international news.

The DOJ’s 2018 announcement stated that Low was charged with conspiracy to launder billions allegedly embezzled from 1MDB, and he remained at large. In May 2026, multiple reports said he remained a fugitive while seeking a U.S. pardon connected to the 1MDB case.

From a BaZi angle, this reflects one of the harshest lessons of an imbalanced wealth-following structure.

If the wealth path is not clean, later luck may not merely reduce wealth.

It may expose the entire mechanism.

The Pitfall of Thinking Connections Can Solve Everything

One dangerous mindset for people with strong networking charts is the belief that every problem can be solved by knowing the right person.

At a lower level, this may work.

Need a favour? Call someone.

Need access? Ask someone.

Need a deal? Introduce someone.

Need a table at a restaurant? Suddenly everyone becomes very spiritual and believes in “guan xi.”

But when legal, ethical, and karmic consequences become too large, connections may no longer protect the person.

In BaZi, when the Officer or authority energy turns against the chart, the person may face pressure from government, law, regulation, and public accountability.

This is especially serious when the Wealth structure has become excessive.

Why?

Because Wealth controls Resource, and if Resource is damaged, the person may lose protection, wisdom, and support.

In simple English, the same money that once opened doors can later close all exits.

What We Can Learn From His Chart

The purpose of reading Jho Low’s BaZi is not to say, “Wah, very rich, very powerful, very exciting.”

That is a shallow reading.

The deeper reading is this:

A person can have great networking ability but poor moral anchoring.

A person can gain access to powerful people but lose access to peace.

A person can accumulate assets but lose the ability to live freely.

A person can be famous, but for the wrong reason.

This is why BaZi is not just about wealth luck.

It is about direction.

If your chart shows strong Wealth, you must learn discipline.

If your chart shows strong Power, you must learn humility.

If your chart shows weak self, you must choose your environment carefully.

If your chart shows Follower structure, you must be very careful what you follow.

Because the thing you follow will become the direction of your life.

Follow wisdom, and your life may become stable.

Follow greed, and even a golden road may lead to a cage.

For Business Owners: Do Not Mistake Opportunity for Destiny

Many business owners love charts that show wealth.

They hear “Wealth Star strong” and immediately smile until the face looks like Chinese New Year pineapple tart.

But strong Wealth does not automatically mean good life.

Strong Wealth can mean money opportunities.

It can also mean money pressure.

It can mean greed.

It can mean overexpansion.

It can mean temptation.

It can mean debts, lawsuits, and loss if the chart cannot manage the wealth properly.

This is why I always tell clients: wealth must be matched with capacity.

If your chart can earn $100,000 but your discipline is only $10,000, the extra $90,000 may become trouble.

If your chart can attract big partners but you cannot judge character, the partnership may become poison.

If your chart can enter powerful circles but you have no ethical boundary, the circle may become a trap.

BaZi does not only tell you where money is.

It tells you what kind of money is safe for you.

This part is very important.

Not all wealth is suitable wealth.

Some money comes with teeth.

For People With Follower Chart Energy: The Three Main Warnings

The first warning is to choose leaders carefully.

If your destiny is designed to follow strong forces, then your leader, mentor, boss, partner, or inner circle becomes extremely important. You cannot casually follow anyone just because they look successful. You must ask whether their success is clean, stable, and sustainable.

The second warning is to avoid greed disguised as opportunity.

Some opportunities look like heaven in the first meeting and become hell in the contract. If the deal requires secrecy, manipulation, fake numbers, illegal shortcuts, or moral compromise, then it is not opportunity. It is a trap wearing perfume.

The third warning is to build inner strength.

Even if your chart is weak, your character cannot be weak. You must strengthen discipline, ethics, emotional control, and long-term thinking. A weak Daymaster does not mean weak morals. That part is still a choice.

The Real Meaning of “Follow the Flow”

Many people misunderstand Follower Charts.

They think “follow the flow” means just follow whatever is strong.

No.

That is dangerous.

A proper Follower Chart must follow the correct flow.

If the river flows toward prosperity, you follow.

If the river flows toward a waterfall, please do not say, “Master Chase said follow the flow.”

That one is not destiny.

That one is lack of braking system.

In BaZi, following the flow means aligning with the strongest useful energy in a way that is sustainable, ethical, and suitable to the person’s destiny.

It does not mean blindly chasing power.

It does not mean worshipping money.

It does not mean ignoring consequences.

The best Follower Charts become excellent because they align with great systems, strong people, and meaningful missions.

The worst Follower Charts collapse because they align with greed, vanity, and unchecked ambition.

Same structure.

Different direction.

Different ending.

Final Thoughts From Master Chase

Jho Low’s story is one of the clearest modern reminders that a powerful chart does not guarantee a peaceful life.

Assuming he has a Follower Chart, his BaZi shows strong potential for networking, positioning, access, and wealth movement. But it also shows the danger of becoming too dependent on external power, status, and money.

A weak Daymaster following Wealth can rise quickly when luck supports it.

But if greed becomes the master, then the person is no longer following destiny.

He is following desire.

And desire, when uncontrolled, is one of the most expensive bosses in the world.

The lesson is not that wealth is bad.

The lesson is that wealth without discipline is unstable.

Power without ethics is dangerous.

Connections without wisdom can become liabilities.

And luck without self-correction can turn from blessing into punishment.

In BaZi, we do not read a chart only to know how high someone can climb.

We also read the chart to know where they may fall.

Because sometimes the most important advice is not “how to get more.”

Sometimes, the most important advice is “what not to touch.”

If you want to understand your own BaZi, your wealth direction, your relationship with power, your risk areas, and your upcoming luck cycle, you should not only ask whether you have money luck.

You should also ask:

Can I carry the money luck safely?

That is where the real reading begins.
