A traveller asked the Buddha: are you a god? A spirit? A man? He said no to each, and answered that he was awake. That is all the word means. 佛, the awakened one.

Mammoth tusk is a natural material. Over time it develops a warm patina (包浆) that is yours alone. Every piece ages at its own pace.

- First 2 weeks. Wipe with a soft cloth and a drop of care oil, morning, midday and night. Keep it away from water.
- After 2 weeks. Oil morning and night, then rub gently with clean, dry hands for about 20 minutes.
- After 1 month. Handle with clean hands every half day; oil only occasionally.
- Avoid. Sweat, perfume, hot water, direct sun, sudden heat or cold, and knocks. Store in a soft pouch.

Is it from elephants?和大象有关吗？
No. It is mammoth tusk from the permafrost. Mammoths have been extinct for thousands of years, so no living animal is harmed.
无关。此为永冻层出土的猛犸牙，猛犸已灭绝数千年，不涉及任何现存动物。
Why is it called Bone Moon?为什么叫月牙？
In Chinese, the crescent moon is 月牙, the moon's tooth. Each piece is carved from pale, curved mammoth tusk, a crescent from the earth.
中文里新月叫「月牙」，即月亮的牙。每件皆以色白弯曲的猛犸牙雕成，如自土中升起的新月。

No. Many wear them as a daily reminder of what they are going after this year: drive, protection, clear sight. Please wear them with respect.

Why are there marks or tone differences?为何有纹路或色差？
These are natural growth lines and mineral traces from thousands of years underground, a mark of natural material.

Can I shower or swim with it?可以戴着洗澡游泳吗？
No. Water and sudden temperature changes can cause cracking.
